Slouchy Shoulder Bag

I looooove this bag. I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do. It is extremely roomie (I got the larger size) and smells like heaven. The slouch is adorable. This is my first Coldbrew bag (I have tons of PLG) and it is a beautiful brown. As a repeat customer I do want to add a little note to PLG: I’ve noticed some small issues in quality since they’ve blown up, and this bag, which is a premium, has one flaw: the back is SO much prettier than the front. The pebble quality is different with the even beautiful pebbles being on the back and the more smooth inconsistent ones being in the front. Since these bags are handmade it seems like an issue that could easily be avoided with a little care and empathy to the customer. Just think, “If this were my bag, how would I want it to look.” and I believe most people think like I do. I understand variation in leather, and I think it’s beautiful still, it just seems like a careless thing. It’s very minor, I’m just passionate about leather work. I say this as a leather crafter myself. I make small leather goods and I ALWAYS make sure the front part is the superior looking leather and I think PLG could benefit from better quality control. Other than that, the bag is beautiful.

Yes, how can a Slouchy be sleek? Well it is such a simple design, a pouch with a strap. I really didn't want to like this style. Had hoped to see it in person at the Austin store, but none were available on Black Friday. Since I knew it would be months before I could get back I took the plunge. Immediately and absolutely smitten when I opened it!! 2 of my misgivings about it were the no interior or exterior pockets and the metal trees...we'll neither are of worry at all. I put the things I would put in the pocket inside an extra little and the trees are discreet at the bottom. Fits 90% of what I would have in a tote if I needed it, sits up nice and straight and I can see everything easily. Cannot say enough about it. Lagoon in large is what I have and will be adding Cosmo next.

I purchased the Large Slouchy bag in Cosmo and it’s the perfect leather for this style, if it’s empty it just becomes a “puddle”. I absolutely love the width of the strap and the look of the strap through both rings. The only thing I wish it had is an inside pocket along the back wall of the bag for my cell phone. As it is now, my phone just goes in with everything else and I worry it could get scratched from my keys or something. I may have to put it in something for more protection. I do plan to buy it in another color.

The small slouchy is my new favorite style!! I went from one to five within two weeks. They hold so much and fit great on my shoulder.

It's so slouchy, soft and squishy! I like it more than I thought I would! It's the perfect size for my petite frame, and it really can hold so much. It holds all that my beloved Luna crossbody can hold, and room for more ~ almost twice the capacity without looking that big. It fits nicely under my arm, and I added a chain so I can use it crossbody while shopping. Although it smelled a bit strong at first, it's already aired out and smells like lovely leather now (so don't despair if you get a strong one). Oh, and I don't hate the metal trees logo like I thought I would; they are cute and have not snagged on anything. (I still prefer the embossed though.)

I have about a half dozen Portland leather bags in several styles, mostly neutrals, but I have been eyeing Bacalar as the pop of color I’d most want in my very practical life. I thought if I could get this in the right size Lola I’d be in heaven, but this new style is honestly my new favorite. The softness and pebbling is fantastic as is the slouch. I especially like the width of the strap, which can be hard to find in PLG bags. I would love some type of interior key ring on this bag, so keys don’t fall to the bottom, or a pocket, but I am keeping a large eclipse bag inside, and that seems to provide the most helpful storage. This green is just gorgeous and NOT just for holidays. His is the larger size, shown with my 80-lb boxer rescue Luna for scale!
